Today's daily painting is 'Purple paradise' 5 x 7 $50.00. Inquiries may come to my email at debflood@debfloodart.com , thank you.
This is actually the same little mini horse that was in yesterday's painting. I just found them to be so gosh darn cute! This time, I changed the outfit from pink to purple.
It's been a busy day today! I took three paintings to be professionally photographed for Giclee reproductions. The city is an hour drive away from me, but well worth it! These two guys do a wonderful job. One does the photography and the other makes the reproductions. Probably near the end of the week I will have to go back and work with the printer to check proofs and get sizes right and then start the print run. Limited Editions of 50 on each image. I'm having three paintings from the Belfast's past series reproduced and a percent of sales is donated to the Belfast, Maine's Historical Society & Museum. I've already sold the first two Giclee!!
I also got a note about painting a table and tray from the Maine Children's Discovery Museum for an annual action! How cool!! Artists paint on these small wood tables and serving trays that the museum provides and then the museum auctions them off to raise funds. I thought that was a really awesome idea! I am waiting to hear back, if they select me. It seems they are streamlining who and how many artists do this now. They want quality over quantity. I did have a hand written note on the form..so it seems a bit encouraging that I may get a table. But we never know for sure! I will keep you updated, if I get a table or not and also about the fund raising auction. I think it is a great idea and the tables must be gorgeous! I have painted on some of my own wood furniture, stenciling and free hand, so I know how and what to do with them.
Wouldn't some wild horses or children with horses look awesome on a table and a serving tray??!!!
That's today's news.
Hope you are enjoying the Kentucky Derby Theme week here at 'Painting a child a day' and please share with family and friends!
talk to you tomorrow,
Debbie
